Year 2 (1983-1984) Ponies

Year 2 Ponies are My Little Pony toys that were released in the second year of G1 production, which was 1983 to 1984.

Some of the original ponies from Year 1 returned, this time with slightly raised heads and concave feet instead of flat feet. New variations were also added, including ponies with turned heads, unicorn ponies, pegasus ponies, Rainbow Ponies, and Sea Ponies.

Year 2 Ponies include Applejack, BlossomBlue Belle, Bow-Tie, Bubbles, ButterscotchCotton Candy, Firefly, Glory, Medley, MintyMoondancer, Moonstone, Parasol, Sealight, Seashell, Seawinkle, Skydancer, Snuzzle, Starshine, Sunbeam, Sunlight, Twilight, Wavedancer, and Windy

The first My Little Pony playset, the Pretty Parlor, was also released in Year 2. It came with a playset pony named Peachy and a cat named Twinkles. It was soon followed by other playsets, including the Show Stable with playset pony Lemon Drop, the Waterfall with playset pony Sprinkles and a duck named Duck Soup, and the Dream Castle with playset pony Majesty and Spike the Dragon.

The My Little Pony Show Stable Carry Case was one of the first accessories and made it easy to store and carry ponies.

Pony Wear was also new in Year 2, with several sets of clothing and accessories for ponies to wear.

The first baby pony, first referred to as "My Beautiful Baby Pony" and later called Ember, was available through a mail order offer by sending in Horseshoe Points from My Little Pony packaging. Also available through mail order for members of the My Little Pony Fan Club was a Mommy Charm named Powder Puff. Bookmark variations of Mommy Charms were also available as Happy Meal toys from McDonald's.
