Jet Bead Earrings Made from Vintage Black Jet Buttons, Sterling Silver
These classy earrings are made with vintage jet buttons topped with sterling silver bead caps and hung from French silver wires. The buttons are faceted and catch the light as they dangle.
Jet, also called lignite, is the result of high pressure wood decomposition and is created over the course of millions of years. Jet beads and buttons were popular in the 1920's and 1930's. The jet buttons used in these earrings came from a vintage sweater.
The beads have some scratches and a chip from their previous life as buttons, but this adds to the vintage charm of the beads.
