Gingerbread Pin Pal Vintage Avon 1972 Gingerbread Man with Fragrance Glacé
This vintage pin by Avon is the Gingerbread Pin Pal from 1972. It features a brown gingerbread man with raised icing details. The back opens up and has solid perfume inside. There were two variations of this pin made, one with pink icing details and one with white icing details.
The pin with pink icing comes with its original box, which shows some wear and discoloration due to age. The pin itself is in good condition and still has the unused solid fragrance glacé perfume inside.
The back of the box says: "This merry little ginger man is clever as can be! He holds a special scent for you...but very secretly!"
The pin with white icing has some paint rubbed off the icing, as shown in the photos. Most of the solid perfume has been used up. This pin does not come with a box.
Perfumes degrade over time, so the fragrance glacé may no longer have the same scent it did 40+ years ago and is best used as a collectible for display or for sentimental value rather than to wear as fragrance.
The back is marked "Avon Products, Inc. 1972."
