Christmas Snowman Marjolein Bastin 1996 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This vintage Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is the Marjolein Bastin Christmas Snowman from 1996. Hallmark released several different Marjolein Bastin snowman ornaments over the years.

The ornament features a snowman holding a broom and a wreath. The wreath is dark green with lighter green holly leaves and dark red holly berries and ribbon. There's a European robin perched on top of the wreath.

There's a loop at the top for hanging, but the ornament is flat on the bottom so it can also be displayed on a shelf instead. The ornament comes with its original box.

The back of the box says:

The noted Dutch nature artist, Marjolein Bastin, recalls building her first snowman when she was very young. "I remember rolling big snowballs for the body of the snowman, starting with a small one, and rolling on and on through the garden until it was so big I couldn't roll it anymore. And how difficult it was to place the third ball, his head, on top..." Finally she added some pieces of black coal for buttons and eyes, a big carrot for the nose, and one of her father's old hats. "Wow, was I proud! I had created something very beautiful that wasn't there one hour ago - just from that pure white snow!"

The ornament has been displayed, but is in good condition.

The bottom is marked "1996 Marjolein Bastin, Hallmark Cards, Inc."
