Make a Little Red Riding Hood cape from a tablecloth

The idea for this tablecloth Little Red Riding hood cape came about after my daughter decided to try sewing her own costume this year. After visiting the fabric store and realizing how much she'd have to spend on yards of fabric and a costume pattern, we headed to Goodwill and picked up a red tablecloth for $6 instead.

We found a few child-sized patterns online and tried enlarging them, but the styles just weren't quite right. Then she found this video tutorial that uses a simple rectangular design for both the hood and cape. Keeping the general shapes and proportions in mind, you can easily adapt this to any size.

The best part? She made it all by herself!
